A Nashville native, Jenean Davis is a community volunteer, advocate, leader, and entrepreneur. Davis is a fund development and event management professional with over ten years of experience, and is owner of JDavis Events Management, a development consulting and event planning company. Jenean has helped raised much needed funds for several local non-profit and civic organizations. As an effective relationship builder and strategist, she has established relationships with key individuals and corporations in the community, which have enabled her to be successful in championing many worthwhile causes.
Davis received a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology from historic Fisk University, and a masters of arts degree in Civic Leadership from the Nelson & Sue Andrews Institute of Civic Leadership at David Lipscomb University. Davis began her passion for community service and volunteerism at a young age, which has evolved into a life of service in the nonprofit/social service sector spanning more than ten years. As a 2011 Coalition of 100 Black Women, Nashville Chapter's, Davis-Galloway Award Nominee; 2010 Nashville Emerging Young Leader Award Nominee, and 2009 ATHENA Award Nominee, Davis has served on numerous non-profit boards over the years which include the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce; YWCA Jr. Board; and ISOA. She currently serves a member of the board of directors for CABLE; Women In Numbers; and Young Leaders Council, Inc. In 2010, Davis was appointed in by Mayor Karl Dean as a Commissioner for the Metropolitan Nashville Beautification Commission, District 1.
As a co-host of Pumps & Politics, Davis brings firsthand experience and knowledge of the political arena in serving as a fundraising consultant to local mayoral, city council, and judicial candidates. In addition her expertise in non-profit leadership provides relevant content to the show. As a fan of Thursday-night "Shondaland" shows (i.e. SCANDLE), she is always prepared for the infamous Round Robin segment of Pumps & Politics! Davis enjoys time with friends, family, networking and connecting others to opportunities. Davis is a member of the Nashville Fisk Alumni Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
